Trøndelag has a rich, varied, and international cultural life.
The County of Festivals
With a large variety of festivals and historical plays on offer, you are guaranteed great cultural experiences. Every year, over 100 festivals and historical plays take place in the county, and about 6000 volunteers contribute greatly to the organisation and realisation of them.
The region offers a choice of everything from rock concerts to midnight operas, the St. Olav Festival, the Storås Festival, and the grand St. Olav Drama. At Røros you can experience the play "Det brinner en eld", about Karl XII’s retreat to Sweden after burning the mining city, while in Rissa the play "The Last Viking", based on the novel by Johan Bojer, is put up every other year.
